B) Offensively-all players must take their turn in the batting order 4. Maximum 5 runs per team per inning; however, if a ball is hit over the fence then all runs will count. In the last inning, the number of runs scored will vary - maximum once around the batting order. Example: Team A has 14 players and Team B has 12 players. Then, both teams shall bat 12 players during the bat around inning. The games will consist of 6 innings. Tie games will continue into extra innings only for the playoffs. Regular season games will end in a tie.. 5. All games will be coach pitch only. Coaches shall pitch overhand from 40 ft.. Substitutions: A. Offensive - None allowed. All players are part of the batting order and must bat and run for themselves. Exception: With 2 outs and the offensive team.s catcher on base, a courtesy runner must be substituted for the catcher for the purpose of speeding up the game. The courtesy runner should be the last person who batted and did not reach base. B. Defensive - Once an inning has started, no changes are permitted, except one due to an injured player. Exception: Change of pitcher. 11. Sliding into first base from home plate shall be permitted as long as the slide is not head first. Head-first sliding is not permitted except when returning to a base. 12. While this is a competitive level of baseball and there are playoffs, the managers and coaches are asked to keep in mind that the league should also be instructional in nature and emphasis should be placed on teaching the fundamentals of baseball. 13. Players fielding the pitchers position must be positioned no closer than the pitching rubber. 14. Rainouts: Coaches should communicate using the phone list when determining if conditions are suitable for playing. Managers and coaches are responsible for making the fields ready for play (regardless of your time slot). If a rainout occurs during the week, this game should be made up on the following Sunday. All makeup's should be rescheduled through the AA Director. 15. The umpire will call the ball dead once a fielder has thrown the ball to the pitcher and the pitcher is in control of the ball within the boundaries as determined by the base lines. Note: However, on receipt of the ball, the pitcher may elect to make a play on a runner. If the pitcher does this and the resulting throw is overthrown the players may advance 1 base at their own risk. 16. Regular season standings will be based on total number of points earned. Two points will be awarded for a win and one point for a tie. With regard to missing umpiring assignments for your team, after the first time your team misses an umpiring assignment, your team will receive a warning. For each umpiring assignment missed thereafter, one point will be deducted from your team standings (regardless of whether or not you actually received the warning after the first missed umpiring assignment). The winning manager of each game must either contact the AA Director with game results or write them down on the appropriate calendar for your level of play, which calendars will be left at the back door of the snack bar, as has been the custom in the past. 17. All teams make the playoffs. 18. When conditions such as thunder and/or lightning exist, all players must be removed from the field. 19. A ball that is batted and hits home plate and then goes fair is a fair ball. 20. Please take note of the time at the start of the game and record it in your score book. Announce to the home plate umpire the starting time. This will end some confusion as to when the game may end. On all Saturday games, except the last scheduled game of the day, no inning may start if more than 1 hour and 40 minutes has gone by since the start of the game. The home plate umpire will be the sole judge of the time remaining. On weeknight games, games shall end based on remaining daylight when playing on the Minor League field and no later than 10pm when playing under the lights. 21. Any game that lasts three and one-half innings and is called due to rain, darkness, or lack of eligible players, will be considered an official game. Four innings apply if the home team is behind in score. 22. The home team is responsible for getting the field ready before the start of the game, and the visitors are responsible for the cleanup. However, it is important that we all work together in this to keep up with the beauty of our fields. Also the trash cans must be emptied and each dugout totally cleared of trash after each game. 23. No jewelry of any type is permitted to be worn on the field, except jewelry that alerts medical personnel to a specific medical condition. 24. At no time during the game is any coach permitted to cross the foul line to talk to a player on the field. If such discussion is needed, the player must come to the foul line to talk to the coach. Exception: Injured player. 25. There shall be no eating of food in any of the dugouts. 26. The home team for each game shall be responsible for working the scoreboard. The scoreboard should only be worked by adults, not children. If no adult is available to work it, then the scoreboard will be turned off and the score shall be kept manually by the respective teams. 27. The Infield Fly Rule shall not be applied and/or enforced at the AA level. 28. Each team shall supply 1 game ball. |
